Manufacturing Process of RCC HUME PIPES
Caging
First of all reinforcement cages are fabricated on collapsible drum type cage machines. All cages are separately weighted on Electric weigh. Supervisor makes it sure that all cages are as oer IS: 458. All cages are tagged with weights and according to tag numbers there weights are written down on the black board. Quality In-charge randomly checks the weights are note down in daily Production sheet with their tag numbers and are given a specific code numbers.
As per IS 458:2003, Table no 6.2.1,the pitch of circumferential reinforcement shall be not more than the following:
a) 200mm for pipes of nominal internal diameter 80 to 150mm.
b) 150mm for pipes of nominal internal diameter 200 to 350mm and
c) 1 00mm for pipes of nominal internal diameter 400mm and above
Mixure
According to mix design and regular checking aggregates, water and cement are used by weight. Instruction are written on boards for proper mixtures. Instructions are given to consume mixture within 30 minutes for its proper strength IS 456 is followed for this.
MOULDING
All moulds are properly cleaned from Hand Grinder after opening. Proper supports are given for centering of cages (If it is higher dis 2 cages are made as per IS 458 and upper cage is always 75% of inner cage) proper oiling is done on molds as well as on bushes and rings. These are properly packed with tie rods and nut bolts.
MANUFACTURING
After molding molds are properly kept on runner with the help of chain pulleys. Initially while pouring the mixture RPM of machine is very slow for proper pouring and then RPM are up to 1500 as per the requirements of IS : 458. When the proper spinning is done it leaves extra water which gives the strength to the pipe. After it, finishing of pipes is done by cutting from rods
DEMOULDING
While demolding with the help of chain pulleys molds are separated. Molds are demolded after 24 hours for proper quality of pipes. Workmanship and finish: Pipes shall be straight and free from cracks. The ends of the pipes shall be square with their longitudinal axis. The outside and inside surfaces of the pipes shall be dense and hard and shall not be coated with cement wash or other preparation unless otherwise agreed to between the purchaser and the manufacturer of the supplier.
CURING
After Demolding with help of Trolleys, Hydra and ceilings pipes are kept in curing tanks for proper curing. Rotation of pipes is done daily and 24 hours sprinkles are on. After 28 days curing pipes are taken out from tanks and storage is done.
STACKING OF FINISHED PIPES
The cured pipe are then taken out of the curing tank with the help of crane and stacked properly at our stockyard.
